Frequently Asked Questions Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How long should my fibreglass roof last?
  2. Can a GRP laminate be applied directly onto concrete?
  3. How do i work out how much material i need for my fiberglass flat roof?

  1. How long should my fibreglass roof last?
A properly applied roof should be secure and watertight for a minimum of 20 years! in reality if it were laid by a competant person they is no reason why it should not last double that!

  2. Can a GRP laminate be applied directly onto concrete?
Only if you coat the concrete with G4, this is a polurethane sealant which creates a bonding surface between the 2 different materials, let the G4 tack off and lay within 4 hours of application.

  3. How do i work out how much material i need for my fiberglass flat roof?
Ok, let's work on 1 layer of 600g Matting; 20 sq mt roof x .600 = 12 kg of matt, then you multiply this by 3 to get the required amount of resin. It is advisable to get extra incase of anything doing wrong whilst laying up. So; i would get 15 Kg of 600g Matt - 45kg of Roofing resin. For the Topcoat Multiply the 20 mt x .5 , so you would need 10kg of Topcoat. If you want to put 2 layers of 450g Matt on simply multiply by .900 to get you Matt weight, then again multiply by 3 for your resin, Topcoat the same multiply by .5. Please call us if you need this explained further or need help about anything, best rgds.
